WAIL Music Magazine is stoked to present Turtle Island's own Kaya Ko. We've been listening to their music for years and it has been a pleasure to see their evolution around Vancouver streets and stages.
Kaya Ko is a queer, non-binary Philippinx vocalist & multi-media artist born on Turtle Island.
With a mix of classical training, 10+ years of street performance, 20+ years of stage performances and self-teaching gives Kaya's music an undeniable sense of fluency and experience.
A gifted songwriter since age 10, violinist since age 5, Kaya graduated at SAE Institute, completing their studies as an Electronic Music Producer and Audio Engineer. Born to entertain with an introspective side, this artist is deeply rooted and offers a wide spectrum of moods, frequencies and flavours to the audience. From stripped down acoustic and live looping to classic hiphop & rnb style dancing sets, Kaya has a set for anything.
Kaya has got some seriously smooth soul in their sound and an unforgettable range filled with spirit and heart. Their vocals are always crisp and fresh, keeping listeners on the edge of their seats and craving more every set!
