Joni Miller is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She's been holding down the bottom end on the bass for sometime, but also plays guitar and piano. 

Her EP "Modern Times" was released in July of 2016 and is available on Bandcamp, CD Baby, Reverbnation and at the following retail destinations; Bone Rattle Music (Vancouver), Mad House Records (Burnaby), Acorn Music (Salmon Arm) 

The follow-up album "All Just Talk" is currently in the works. 

Joni's style is influenced by blues, rock and latin. Her musical journey started at the age of 6 with classical piano lessons. In more recent years she has performed on large and small stages throughout the Lower Mainland, in the Shuswap/North Okanagan, South Okanagan, the Caribou, and into Alberta. 

She currently heads "Joni Miller & The Usual Suspects" - on bass and lead vocals. The Suspects are a variable cast of quality musicians, including the Okanagan's Dan Engelland. 

Joni has published short stories, poetry & non-fiction. She was a two-time finalist in the BC Federation of Writers "Festival of the Arts" contest and is also the author of "Eating Well on Practically Nothing - a guide for starving students, starving artists, and everybody else." 

For nearly ten years she lived, played and co-wrote with the late Vince Eastman as the Miller/Eastman band. Vince was an exceptional guitarist and composer who had a profound influence on Joni's life. Vince died of cancer in January of 2011. 

2 tracks they co-wrote (Ones Who Bleed & Hastings Street) are included in the sound track of "Moon Water" - a documentary by Rita Godbout on the Missing and Murdered Women. Moon Water is distributed by Moving Images.
